My dear Nina &  Gafoor Jaffer!  Ya Ali Madad!

The above mentioned commentary on Sura Noor reproduced  by Messrs Andrew
Ripppin and Jan Knappert in their book "Textual Sources for the Study of
Islam"  is wrongly attributed to Mowlana Hazar Imam and titled as "The Aga
Khan Karim Ali on the Kur'anic 'light'.

This was in fact a commentary written by our late friend Alijah Alwaez R. D.
Sharif in one of the magazines in East Africa and is not by Mowlana Hazar Imam
as attributed by the editors and translators.

When Alijah R.D.Sharif and I discovered this publication, he was very much
upset and he wrote a letter to the authors of the book, clarifying  the wrong
attribution to Mowlana Hazar Imam and informing them that he, R.D.Sharif was
the author of that commentary!

As a collector of Ismaili bibliographical materials for several decades now, I
have never come across this commentary before it was published by these
authors!
I am sure other students of Ismaili studies also will be really surprised by
its attribution to Mowlana Hazar Imam!

While I appreciate and admire the time and effort you are putting in
publicising good materials on Ismailism, Islam and Mowlana Hazar Imam's
activities for the Ummah,
as a brother,  I felt it necessary to draw your attention to this wrong
attribution to Mowlana Hazar Imam since you are inviting netters with a
caption: "Mowlana Hazar Imam explains Sura Noor. For the full article please
visit the Ismaili Web."

I hope you will investigate and make the necessary correction!
