This is a wonderful informative site. I have yet to find anywhere any figures of how many Ismailis are there worldwide. I would be interested in knowing some accurate information. I am not interested in figures cooked up by the propoganda machine or by the numerous fanatics. Anyone with the correct information.

Someone who cannot even spell the word "shiism" sits in judgment of others who are Shias. How interesting! But of course, Mr. Alias ghar cannot be wrong; as he, alias as his name suggests, has a lot qualifications to his name. He is a doctor, an engineer and an intellectual! I would suggest to Mr. Alias ghar to first learn how to spell the word shiism, then attempt to read what shiism is all about and then lastly, if he has satisfied the first two conditions, to embarak on his ambitious adventure to write about shiism on the Ismaili Web page. Good luck! I know you need it.

I have a very simple Question. You talk about the Shiaism and the Prayers etc. Where is THE QIBLA in THE NIZARI JAMAATKHANA. You do not pray like other muslims. You play dandia in the Jamaat Khana right??? Explain this. Ismailis do not fast during Ramadhan but are very fast to celebrate Eid. What about Muharram, do you you offer reverences during the month of Muharrum to remember the tragedy of karbala? NO and NO and NO. and you call yourself shias????

Assalam alaikum, Salawat! I had been a Christian until I became a Muslim in August 1999. I first read the Quran in translation in 1995, and studied about Islam (in Sunni books) until the fall of 1998 when it finally occurred to me that because of the events in early Islamic history, I really should be looking into Shia Islam. I met some "12er" Shia and read the Nahjul Balagha and the Al-Sahifat Al-Sajjadiyya as well as books about Ithna-Ashari Belief, Practice, and History. At the time, I did not find any Zaydi or Ismaili Shias or books. Since I have wanted to read about other Shia groups from their sources, I am happy I have stumbled into your website. I checked your WHATS NEW page and was suprised to see a link for an Internet based bank. Not only that, you have without shame, mentioned that you get money for li to maintain this website. This bank deals with Interests of all kinds. and for your information INTREST(RIBA) IS NOT PERMITTED IN ISLAM. If you are that kin in displaying links to online banking, then choose the Islamic banks. It doesnt suit that you use the Ismaili Web Site for that purpose. This brings a doubt if the Ismail Tradition accepts RIBA or not...

Okay so you lot aren't normal Muslims, thank you Jasmid. But you still believe in Allah and you still believe in Muhammad as his prophet. But let me tell you this, you still have to hear the Good News. Jesus died for every one of you and he loves you all. He was the Son of God and still is up in heaven. Answer me this where is Muhammad's body today? Where is Christ's body? How can you not possibly believe that Christ did not rise from the dead? The disciples were matryed for their belief that Jesus rose from the dead. Do you think they would have risked their lives for something that they knew wasn't true? Because he was God, Jesus alone paid the price for our sins. We cannot get to heaven by yourselves. Even your Muhammad did not know whether he was going to paradise: "Even though I am an apsotle of Allah, I am not sure what Allah will do with me." And furthermore Muhammad was a sinner: "O Allah set me apart from my sins." Every single person both his enemies and followers could not find a single fault in Jesus. He had no sin in him. He was God incarnate. There is no other way to get to heaven but by Jesus. SO please come to your senses and realise that you are doomed to the eternal lake of fire. Listen up all you fools! If you seroiusly think Muhammad is the most influential person in history - you are very well mistaken. Jesus Christ by a long way was the greatest, most influential person ever in the history of the world. Jesus is ALIVE, Muhammad is dead and buried. Jesus is our Savoiur, Lord and Master and he loves you all and wants you to turn from your sins NOW. Muhammad was only a man like you and me, he did not die for the world and for the sins of the world like Christ did. You see all you Muslims try to make it our own way whereas i have a personal God, a God who loves and knows everything about me. Can you boast that?
