A Warm Glow in the Heart
Dear Nina:
Greetings from Dr. Rajesh and Dr. Shanta Noah.
We are now based in New Delhi India - we had devoted 5 years of our life working for the rural community in Gujarat [Southern Saurashtra] and Sidhpur - made lasting friendships / relationships with the community, including the staff at the Aga Khan Health Services - both at Gujarat [Jonpur, Sidhpur] and at Mumbai.
We take this opportunity to:
extend our heartiest and warmest congratulations for being a lively communicator of "Ismaili Teachings".
Our site has also been a source of us being in touch with Mowlana Hazar Imams teachings - as we have particularly admired the ways in which the "din" and "duniya" have been interrelated.
Our home in New Delhi has a memento of HH given to us by Our Friend - Nuruddin [Nuru-bhai] McKnojia from Sidhpur.
Our association of 5-years [1991-1995] was a golden memorable period of our lives.
The Ismaili Community is lucky to have a committed and dedicated murid like you, Nina.
Warm regards, Once again.
God Bless.
Shanta / Rajesh Noah
Nina:
Please post this message on your website guestbook.

New Delhi, India - Friday, November 16, 2001 at 12:21:15 (CST)My "threatening" letter to MS:
Dear MiNaz,
Stop abusing other people's property. Get your own website if you truly are in Truth. You have left the Ismaili faith and we bear you no grudges. However, you seem to have left your soul behind as you keep coming back.
I want you to stop bashing our beliefs. No one appreciates your unwelcome remarks at this location. Do it on your own website or on your newly found home's website.
However, if you want to come back to the fold, there is help for you. I wish you peace,
Ya Haq!

USA - Tuesday, November 13, 2001 at 16:06:30 (CST)DIVISIONS AND CHISMS IN ISLAM
==========================
To every philosophical student of the history of religion this heading must cause surprise, if not pain; to every Muslim devoted to the Founder of his Faith it must cause sorrow and shame. Alas! that the religion of humanity and universal brotherhood should not have escaped the curse of intercine strife and discord; the Faith which was to bring peace and rest to distracted world should itself be torn to pieces by angry passions and the lust of power.=====Until now the wars of Arabs and their alliances, their virtues and vices, their love of independence and their clannish feeling, has alike prevented community of actions. "You have been elected to carry to all mankind the message of mercy, the announcement of divine unity," is the call addressed to them and they responded. ===The same causes, however, which until the advent of the Prophet, had prevented the growth of the Arabs into a nation--the same tribal jealousies, the same division of clan and clan, the marks of which are still visible throughout the Muslim world- ---led eventually, not only to the ruin of the Republic but also to the downfall of Muslim empire.=====The Church of Mohammed, like the Church of Christ, has been rent by intestine divisions and strifes. Difference of opinion on abstract subjects, about which there cannot be any certitude in a finite existence, has given rise to greater bitterness and fiercer hostility than ordinary differences on matters within the range of human cognition.

Calgary., AB. Canada. - Tuesday, November 13, 2001 at 15:41:43 (CST)Asif Khan,
Where does it say in The new or old testament ?
You are NOT talking about the same GOD "Lord" "Yahweh"
You are talking about your gods.
I know more about ismailis then maybe you and I know
that it is a cult and praying to man is NOT of GOD.

UK - Tuesday, November 13, 2001 at 15:14:52 (CST)To Naz: The Light of Allah is Eternal - it did not die with Jesus. When you invoke Jesus - you invoke none other than Mowlana Hazar Imam - the present bearer of the Noor/Light. Per the Bible: The Imam e Zamaan is the Door to Allah - John 14:6. Prophet Muhammed sws said: When Hazrat Isa (Jesus) re-appears towards the end of time, he will offer his bayat (allegiance) to the Imam e zamaan and pray behind him. May you be guided towards the Light!

Matt. 23:13 But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites ! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men; for ye neither go in yourself, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in
(Ex.20:3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me. Matt. 24;5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. Ex.20:5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God AM a jealous God). (Hence not putting the creation before The Creator Himself,The Almighty GOD, YAHWEH).
in John 14:6, “I am the way, the truth and the life: no man comes to The Father, but by me”
Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables” Mark 4:11
John3;3 Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a man be born again, he cannot SEE the kingdom of God
Zech. 4:6 Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit saith The LORD” “Isaiah 54:17 No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD”
1John 4:6 “We are of God. He who knows God hears us; he who is not of God does not hear us. By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error”), (John 15:18 If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you), (John 15:23 He that hates me hates my Father also

Damascus, Syria - Monday, November 12, 2001 at 00:39:31 (CST)The site is well produced. As for famous Ismaili men in history, you seem to have claimed every famous muslim scholar who had ever lived. There was never a proof that any of thses great men (Avicenna, Ibn Khaldoon..etc) was in any way related to the Ismaili sect. Also, what's with the pictures of these men? I undestand that this section is meant to be for children but c'mon.

Henderson , NV USA - Saturday, November 10, 2001 at 09:12:56 (CST)BRIEF EXTRACTS FROM THE SPEECH MADE BY EX-PRESIDENT CLINTON IN CALGARY ON NOVEMBER 8th AS REPORTED BY CALGARY HERALD OF NOVEMBER 9th,2001(With acknowledgment) AT THE GATHERING-- OF BLACK-TIE DINNER ARRANGED FOR THE BENEFIT OF CHARITIES)------------------------------------------BRIEF EXTRACT(1)---------------------------------While there are technological advantages, scientific achievements and democracy is spreading like never before, many parts of the world are suffering from poverty, diseases like AIDs and environmental degradation-------------
"Say what you want about world economy--- half the world is living on less than $2 a day," he said. The challenge we face, said Clinton, is expanding the benefits while shrinking the negatives of interdependence.........................
He said it's no coincidence many Osama bin Laden's supporters come from poor countries and many of bin Laden's foot soldiers are attacking America "not because they want to destroy the civilized world, but because they want to join it."----------------------------------------------
He said it is cheaper for the modern world to fund schools, hospitals and forgive Third-World debt than fight any war, anywhere.
He also talked about the peace process in the Middle East and wondered about how much further it would have gone if the former leaders Itzhak Rabin of Israel and King Hussein of Jordan were still alive.
(2) Clinton appeared at Georgetown University earlier this week and he spoke about how terror has existed in America for hundreds of years and that U.S. is now "paying a price" for looking the other way when people like blacks and Native Americans were dispossessed and killed.

ISLAM---KNOWLEDGE AND SCIENCE(WE SHOULD KNOW)From the very beginning , Islam encouraged the pursuit of science and favored progress. The precepts of the Quran and the injunctions of the Prophet bear testimony to this favorable attitude of the Islamic religion. Thus we find in the Quran:(1) :O my Lord! advance me in knowledge."--Sura: xx:v.114.(2) But those among them who are well-grounded in knowledge...to them shall We soon give a great reward."--Sura.iv:v.162.(3) Say: Are those equal, those who know and those who do not know?"--Sura:xxxiv: v.9.(4) "And he to whom wisdom is granted receiveth indeed a benefit overflowing."Sura:ii:v.269. Prophet commented on this pursuit of science in these terms:"To seek knowledge is a duty for every Muslim man and woman.Seek knowledge even though it be in China. Teach science: he who teaches it fears God, he who seeks it adores God, he who spreads it distributes alms, he who possesses it becomes an object of veneration and benevolence. The savants are the heirs of the prophets." HERE ARE FEW EXTRACTS OF OPINIONS OF SOME OBJECTIVE WESTERN SCHOLARS UPON ISLAM: (1)Dr.Gustave le Bon wrote in his monumental work:" La Civilization des:Arabs": "Islam is among religions the most compatible with the discoveries of science and one of the most apt, at the same time,to soften manners and to assure the practice of charity, justice and tolerance."(2)The American scientist DRAPER, in his "History of the Intellectual Development of Europe'" deeply deplored that EUROPEAN literature had systematically endeavored to make the West for get its scientific debt to the Muslims, and that it was certainly time to recognize that.(3) Comte de Gobineau, who was not too sympathetic in his views on Islam, wrote in his work:"Les religions at les philosophies dans L'Asie Centrale": --"It is difficult to share the opinion of those who want to see in Muslim dogma a direct obstacle to intellectual development. The contrary seems to be more defendable. The religion that pronounced this formula:'THE INK OF THE SAVANTS IS MORE PRECIOUS THAN THE BLOOD OF MARTYRS,' a religion which assures that everyone, at the LAST JUDGMENT, will be examined strictly according to the use which he would have made of his allotted intelligence, a religion since its birth in the seventh century till the end of the sixteenth century, if not later still, such a material prosperity supported and maintained by such scientific and literary state, the entire extent of which we do not really know, that religion could not be considered with justice as being contrary to intellectual labors......What is certain, is that the spirit oc criticism, of research and of discussion, which had began the very first by MUHAMMAD HIMSELF WAS NEVER LOST"

When the President of Uganda Idi Amin Dada (Muslim himself) expelled ASIANS-MUSLIMS from Uganda,it was tragedy of mammoth proportion. Regarless of their citizenship status, every child, woman and man became an expendable commmodity - humanity was DEGRADED AT ITS WORST.Then soldiers were out to loot, confiscate, rape and steal anything Asians-Muslims had.The exodus started with Muslim masses penniless. It fell to our spirritual Pathfinder and leaders to cater for thousands of Asians-Muslims who became refugees overnight. The Western Embassies came to the rescue. Canada. Britain, United States opened their countries to receive these countless Asian-Muslims ;and people of these countries opened their hearts and received themm with open arms, regardless of their Faith(We were not Christians!).HOW CAN WE FORGET THE GRATITUDE WE OWE TO THEM?.

Calgary., AB. Canada. - Friday, October 26, 2001 at 14:37:49 (CDT)HEARTS AND MINDS WILL CHANGE PERMANENTLY?
__________________________________________
The Short Essay: Life's list of priorities suddenly got very short for a lot of people:
Family.
Humanity.
Love.
They outstripped the routine distractions and normally crowd our consciousness: Errands, appointments, work, deadlines.
In the face of what happened in U.S. people stood, mouths gaping and heads shaking at the horrific news, which pressed on their chests like heavy army boots.
If any good can come out of the incredibly acts inflicted on North Americans , it is the mental clarity that comes with realization THAT ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE AND LITTLE IS PERMANENT.
The skyline of New York will be changed forever with the crumbling of two landmarks:World Trade Centre towers.
SIMILARLY, HEARTS AND MINDS WILL BE CHANGED- MAY BE PERMANENTLY- as our priorities are reshuffled to the vary basics.
It is my guess that the viewing of brutal images and listening to devastating details in news reports will have to be balanced by PURSUIT OF SIMPLE THINGS.
IT IS THE ONE PLACE AND THAT WE CAN CONTROL WHEN EVERYTHING SEEMS SO CLEARLY OUT OF CONTROL: IT IS A PLACE WHERE FAMILY, HUMANITY, AND LOVE CAN RESIDE:our homes and praying place.

UK - Thursday, September 13, 2001 at 05:37:33 (CDT)TOLERANCE IN ISLAM: Even a little knowledge of Islam will show that its religion is not only tolerant of other Faiths, but most respectful, and indeed, fully accepts the divine inspiration of all theistic Faiths that came before Islam. It does not only teach tolerance to its followers, but goes a step further and enjoins of "Hilm" that is tolerance, forbearance, patience, calmness, and forgiveness. It is due to the spirit of tolerance of Islam that even the smallest Christian and Jewish minorities survived and kept all their doctrines during the thousand years of Muslim rule. Nothing like what happened to Muslims in Sapin after the Christian conquest have ever happened to a non-Muslim Faith in any Islamic dominion.

Calgary., AB. Canada. - Wednesday, September 12, 2001 at 15:21:30 (CDT)This is the time for the Ismaili leadership to stand up and denounce Terrorism. The fact is, there are some Muslims who kill in the name of Allah. It is critical that we do not repeat the mistakes we made in Africa where we stood by and watched as indigent Africans were used and abused. Now is the time to show that we truly abhor killing of Human beings and are willing to denounce those who perpetuate this crime even though they may be Muslims.
Alnoor Ramji <paparam@bigfoot.com>
USA - Wednesday, September 12, 2001 at 02:36:46 (CDT)Say: Come I will recite what your Lord has forbidden to you... Allah has forbidden that you kill as the soul is sacred. [6.151]. The attacks on innocent lives cannot be an act of a Muslim and has no Islamic ties to it as God has forbidden killing - "if you kill a human, it is as if you have killed all humanity; if you save a human life, it is as if you have saved all of humanity."
I was very disturbed at the horrible attacks on human lives and as Muslims, we should do everything to bring back peace and order into the lives of those injured by this tragic event. The offenders should be brought to justice so that they would not disturb a peace-loving nation such as the United States. Please give donations of blood and of your time to help the victims through this tragegy, and to show that this attack has nothing to do with Islam. I remember that when there was a bomb attack in Oklahoma, everyone started pointing the finger at "Islamic" terrorists. Terrorism and Islam just do not go hand-in-hand and the media should change their attitude towards these blanket statements so that the people in the West would be better educated about what Islam really is, and, that is, it is a practice of peace and of striving to be God-like as one billion of the people of the world (Muslims) believe. God loves everyone, and so does a real Muslim who aspires to be like God so that he/she can merge with His Soul. Nina Jaffer - The Ismaili Web <info@amaana.org">

jeddah, wp ksa - Friday, September 07, 2001 at 07:31:57 (CDT)A friend Just got off the phone with Syria. It is official that Hazar Imam will be visiting Syria from 4-8 November. He is going as a guest of Syrian >Government from 4-6 November. Syrian Govt. is hosting the Aga Khan Architect Award this year at Aleppo Citadel. >
>Deedar is being planned, but is not official as yet, from 7-8 November. Deedar will be at 4 places, Inshallah. There are 200,000 Syrian Ismailis so all of them cannot meet at one place. The four places, Inshallah, will be Damascus, Salamieh, Al-Khawabi and Masyaf. Please pray for our Syrian Jamat.>They are ecstatic.!!! They had given up on deedar. One Syrian friend recently told me that Syrians die without ever seeing the Imam >(physically). They had no hope. Please pray for our brothers and sisters in Syria and remote countries like Syria that they be graced with Didar.

i am so very honoured to be able to log on to your site and learn so many
things that are only limited in time. the wealth of knowledge contained
therein is just sitting with very few appreciative remarks about the work
done. i will say one thing - knowledge is power - knowledge itself is NOOR.
amen.
