Eid-e-Mubahila
The victory of Mubahila is a very important event in the Islamic calendar, thus the celebration.
MUBAHILA - A Confrontation with Allah (SWT)
When the Christians insisted on Jesus being the Deity, Allah (SAW) commanded , as shown in Qur'an (3:60), that the christians be summoned to Mubahila. Mubahila is a spiritual contest invoking the curse of Allah upon the liar. The underlying message in the Mubahila tells us that it was not a confrontation between the holy person of the Messenger and necessarily the christians. They were the enemies of
what the prophet stood for. This event conclusively and incontrovertibly established that it was a challenge to Allah and that the Holy Panjetan (as) represented Allah's authority.
In the Holy Qur'an, Allah (SWT) says he makes it obligatory upon all to Obey Muhammad (SAW). He then says: when Muhammad speaks, he speaks my words. Common sense therefore tells us that to obey Muhammad (SAW) is to obey Allah (SWT). As the Aya in Qur'an ran (3:60) runs, the Holy Messenger took the other four Panjatans with him
representing Allah (SWT), advanced towards the Christians for Mubahila and said "Lord these are the people of my house". This re-affirmed yet again the prophet's hadith on other occasions that he and the Ahlul Bayt were one and the same.
Defiance and disobedience to Allah (SWT) has occurred on other occasions in Islam. The above Mubahila need not be a unique incident and necessarily identify christians as the only adversaries in Islam. The above Mubahila is a clear
reminder and concrete proof, if it were needed, regarding Allah's authority. In every Mubahila what has been constant and will remain so is , that every Defiance and disobedience to Allah (SWT) has been dealt with Allah (SWT) directly or indirectly through the Ahlul Bayt
